Douglas/Steinman ProductionsAbout Us

Douglas/Steinman Productions is an independent production company founded in New York City in 1996 by Eileen Douglas and Ron Steinman. Douglas and Steinman first worked together when they were paired as a correspondent/producer team for the television show “ABC-TV’s Lifetime Magazine.” At that time, both had enjoyed long, successful careers as broadcast journalists. When the television show was not renewed, Douglas and Steinman created their company, so they could continue to produce meaningful stories and do so as independent producers.

Their film “Luboml: My Heart Remembers” aired on public television, and is distributed by Cinema Guild. Cinema Guild also distributes their film “My Grandfather’s House,” which was seen regularly on the Dish Network’s Documentary Channel, and TJC, The Jewish Channel. “My Grandfather’s House” has also been selected by the Library of Congress for its motion picture division’s permanent collection. Their most recent film “The Dance Goodbye” is now available on DVD from First Run Features.

As partners in Douglas/ Steinman Productions, they currently are at work on a number of independent book and documentary projects.

They are also available as producers for hire. Ron directs. Ron and Eileen both write and produce. Eileen narrates.

Both have served as judges for the Emmys.
